Jazreel's 1st 5-in-1

11 Feb****Jazreel's 1st 5-in-1

She's 6.75kg today. She was 3.5mths old. The jab was slightly delayed coz of the CNY.

The GP commented that she's such a sweet little girl, she lay on the weighing scales, eyes following me when I walked around, but never made a cry.

She cried for a moment of course when the needle went in.
Then she took the rotarix.

My little girl is now 4mths old, such a sweet little princess of mine. I love her to bits. Though now she hardly can nap on her own after that CNY of rushing here and there, but she's still so sweet she hardly cries even when she's hungry. she smiles readily, has a sweet disposition, and is scared of Ah Gong coz he talks so loud hehee..

She has started recently to suck and eat her feet, and will now grab the dangling toys at her aqua playmat, and stare intently at the ball.

My little girl...

The 2 Thomas Fans

The 2 Thomas Fans met one weekend at one of the fan's house. :P

Initially, there was a slight dispute over sharing toys, but thereafter, the 2 were the best of buddies!!! it all started....with that bowl of bee hoon.

Clarence and Jovann eating very very yummy vegetarian bee hoon together. Think Jovann asked for more! Wow...I must get the address of this shop.

And they later enjoyed Haagen Daz icecream together..

Jazreel was such a dear...she was lying on the sofa throughout the entire visit. Watching tv, sucking her fingers, talking and playing on her own.

The 2 boys had a rough and fun tumble all over the sofa and Daddy CL after that. They screeched, they yelled, they nearly fell (Its rhymes!), and you never saw 2 boys having so much fun!!

J and DN

DN and Jovann had a lot of fun lately.

They met after a long long absence the first night DN came back from UK. We went to the Night Safari! I was so excited to see June and DN, and excited coz its our 1st time to the Night Safari, which is coincidentally so near our place! I left Jaz at home with hubby and maid, and drove J there. It was fun, the driving too. :P

FINALLY saw DN, see the cute little one.

NIGHT SAFARI
Right from the beginning, I was getting J all excited by telling him we are going to the night zoo, and he kept asking for elephants from then on. OH dear. Once the tram left the platform and entered the dark dark forest, everything was quite black. But the little one wasn't scared at all, I was even more nervous than him. Once when we were crossing a small stream, and the floor of the tram was only slightly above water, the guide was scaring us about crocodiles and I was actually nervous. Heee! But J was chattering nineteen to the dozen, oblivious...and excited. We saw lions, deers, monkeys, leopards, rhinos, and many other animals with long names I cannot remember! June, can you? it was deer...deer and more deer at one point right? hehehe! Night Safari has a very clever subtle lighting system that cast just enough light onto the area you are supposed to see, but still making it dark enough to retain that mystery of night.

We got on the tram

We stopped halfway and walked for a distance. The 2 little boys posing with the zebras.

Back to the tram, J still kept asking for elephants. I was despairing of seeing any, and tried to distract him. But he won't have any of that. He kept asking, and asking. And I nearly jumped out of my seat in excitement when the guide finally mentioned ".....elephants...." the rest of his words were lost to me as I craned my neck trying to find that eluded animal to quell my son's persistent demands. There they are! 2 of them, 1 on either side. The huge one was the right was supposedly the bigger elephant in the Night Safari. And the funny one was standing right up on an outcrop of rock, doing an elephant dance in the darkness, swaying his trunk slowly...slowly...left...right..left...right....he looked like he was in a trance. J stared long and hard at it....then he suddenly told me he's scared! hehehee....so funny.

BIRD PARK
We met up at a Breakfast with the Birds, which was quite fun though the drinks costs horrendously high at the cafe. The kids got to feed swans and ducks, and we watched a parrot show while enjoying our breakfast. Wonderful. I have been so eager to bring J to the birdpark since the period of time when he was obsessed with birds. Now that his obsession has passed, I still want to bring him as I love the birdshow I watched with hubby long long time ago....heee...

We got to take photos with the parrot! its free for all the breakfast patrons.

Racing to the first show! the photos were blur coz the Daddies were doing a daytona with their strollers.

We caught 2 shows there, the Birds of Prey, and the Birds and Buddies Show. The latter was nice! Really entertaining for the kids...and me.

Birds of Prey - King of the Skies

At one point, the 2 boys exchanged parents. Strangely, DN likes hubby a lot, and J adores Auntie June. Heee!

After a tiring morning.

MUSIC TOGETHER
Both our kids seemed to show an interest in music and instruments, and we sourced out 2 trials we could let them try, to gauge if their interest could bring them further.

Breakfast at Macs@Forum

Little Jaz meeting her godma for the first time!

The one we went to together exposes them to musical rhythm, 3-4beats, pitching and toning, and basically expose them to the fundamentals of a music education in a fun fun way. J had SO MUCH fun, I could hear his screams and laughter from outside the classroom! This lesson was on percussion instruments, so the boys banged on the keys of the piano...

did their tribal dance song on all sorts of drums...big and small....

DN and Daddy

A weekday with Jovann

I was at home with the 2 of them on Thur, as my mom was sick.

Jovann wanted to feed meimei milk.

After I took over, he decided to feed his doll milk instead. so cute....

OPened up the new box of dinosaur puzzle to let J play. He is into puzzles lately so I bought a new one for him. :P

He completed 5 quite effortlessly! He loves it! :)

Some time later, I let him "play with scissors". Recently he has been eye-ing his Thomas safety scissors and going "I want to cut" so that day I spotted just the right thing for him. A craft book with every page filled with pictures of "cuttable" stuff. There are instructions and tips on how to hold a safety scissors, how to start him on these fine motor games, and every page contains a cute picture e.g. a Robot, a Bird, A clown etc, with thick grey lines for the young ones to cut along, to practise their scissors movement. After they complete cutting along the lines, the hands of the robot can miraculously move, or the clown can dance with his feet and arms, or the piece of paper suddenly becomes a playable yoyo that actually bounces up and down. So innovative! J loves it! We did 4-5 in a row, and he's still asking for more. The trick was to get him to stop when he's still interested heee...

Jovann is 27mths

Jovann turns 27th months old in Feb. a few more days to go and he will be 2 1/2yrs old. 6more mnths after that and he's 3! oh goodness.

* He has started to use certain words more often like "with" "and", "or", "under", "in front", "too", "also". quite funny sometimes.

* He has started asking "why" questions. But still full of mostly "What" and "Where" questions.

* He can make the numbers 1-5 with his fingers on his hand now, during CNY! :)

* His speed of picking up vocabulary is scary. Many times he will surprise us with words we didn't teach him before, prob picked them up from school.

* He loves singing songs learnt from school, and since he's singing out of pitch (:P), we have to try to decipher what song he is singing and the lyrics. Some of the songs we overheard him sing goes like "Thank you Jesus...thank you Jesus (their saying grace song in school)..." and "朋友你好。。。。 朋友放开。。。。朋友牵手, 我们走。。。" hehee don't know what song is the latter!

* His latest fav singers in Daddy's car is Josh Groban. Classy! He will try to sing along, but will replace Mr Groban's best tenor parts with toddler yelling. After all, he hasn't had any choir training, unlike his parents....ah-hem....

* He has been oh so affectionate as usual.Nowadays he's back to being even more sticky to me. At night, I keep hearing him chant to maid or to hubby "I want mommy...I want Mommy" like a broken record, when I happen to be nursing Jaz in the room. Then when I go into our room after Jaz is asleep, he will call out happily "Mommy's here! Daddy, go outside." poor hubby.

* When I am putting him to bed, he will snuggle close to me, put his face close to mine, and say things like "I want to hug mommy", or "I want to kiss mommy" and follow up with a kiss. Sometimes he touch my cheek gently and says "I Love you Mommy...". And he's been asking us to baobao even more often now. I did read that with a new sibling, the older one may revert to babyish behaviour to gain attention, so we try to accommodate him while we can, but not overly so.

* He is having very very baby progress on his chewing, but progress it is. now, with my bento efforts,he has started chewing small pieces of grapes, watermelons, and even small pieces of pear. Yes!

* He's very doting towards his sis. Ever since I bought him the doll to play with and care for, he has not hit Jaz (*cross fingers*) from then on. Now he still loves to see her being bathed, being fed milk. Once he even fed her milk while she lay on his lap! and when I took over the bottle and Jaz to feed, he picked up his doll, and find for the toy bottle, to plug it into the doll's mouth! Will find that cute photo to upload soon. (I can't find my SD card reader!!!)

* Now he can play phychology with my Dad. Whenever they bring him to NTUC and they reach the carpark, Jovann will want them to carry, so he will say "危险 Car coming. Wait BANG! 痛痛 外公抱抱!" haaa...

* When I am wearing a certain colour e.g. pink, he will ask "Mommy, are you pink?".. hehehe so funny I always have to try not to laugh.

* He likes to "help me pump" when I pumping milk, so I will let him press the pump once or twice to make him happy. Once, when I was pumping milk, he said these...."Mommy, are you pump?" then when I replied Yes I am pumping, he wanted to hold it and said "I hold I hold!" Then he stared intently at the pump, and said "Got....there! coming coming. Milk come down!" hehehe!

* He will ask "Mommy are you tired" if he sees me yawn.

* He still says "Finish" as "Finisss...".

Reading Corner

Some time back, we bought a bookcase. actually, TWO bookcase, coz each only cost $20.30! Its a steal! been looking for one such nice and cheap bookcase for so so long.....

That night, hubby set them up, and I took out the small alphabet mats Zhu bought for my kids. And viola! J has a reading corner! There goes our cosy spa corner.

Lazy mommy next morning so tired, stayed in bed a minute too long, missed out J's rxn when he saw it.But my maid said he went "woww.....wow......so nice...." hehehe!

We later bought a 3M polarized light. Hey, this one costs more than the 2 bookcases added up together!

From then on, J always goes straight to this reading corner once he reach home. and if daddy or mommy is busy, he will sit there and flip his books for a while, sometimes reading aloud to himself. :)

CNY @ Bins

I know this post is super belated (its already MARCH!), but we had so much fun that day I still wish to post it for my memories sake.

Jaz all dressed up for the party! Thanks Auntie Mingzhu for this pretty sweet dress! Its for 6mths old but I tot Jaz better wear it soon, its tight. :P

One of the days during CNY, Reubern, Clarence and Malcolm came to our house. Eunice was also here and she had the same hairband as Jaz. So cute right the 2 meimeis?????

Malcolm was so sweet at his visit, he stayed unfazed when Jovann, the host, refused to share his toys initially. It was only later that Jovann was willing to.

We prepared some simple food, aglio olio with ham, bacon, mushrooms, as well as stewed beef with carrots and potatoes. Joanne like the stewed beef so much she asked me for recipe. I am sooooo flattered! Eerrr....too busy to take photos of the food before being eaten. So here's the remnants.

hubby also deepfry some nian gao. Its CNY afterall!

These 2 boys were racing each other across the living room, again and again! Jovann was going "ready...1, 2, 3...GO!" and they will zoom past you to bang their cars against the opposite wall. It was only the next day we noticed a huge piece of plaster came off from the impact. they are violent. boys will be boys.

Grace bought some bento stuff for us, and I also helped her buy some. so we took out our purchases and went goo goo ga gaa over all of it! So fun, i love the animal picks!

Budget bento models. :P

Poor Jaz didn't nap well the whole day, look at her eyes, so tired. I excused myself around 7.30pm that night to put her to bed. She was so tired she cried when being carried by maid. and after I nursed her, she fell asleep despite the noise and laughter outside in the living room.

The 3 boys, this photo was the best among the many many taken, that was not blur hahaha.

Then it was Auntie Peach's story telling time, in which the 2 Thomas-loving boys sit around here and listened intently to her Thomas story. Auntie Peach said the 2 boys were fighting over each other to be the one to answer her questions and point out things in the book.

The aftermath of the Island of Sodor after a Tsunami named three-boys-played-here.

At the end, after all the formula 1 racing, Reubern battery wound down, and he curled up in Jaz's old sleeper! The boys took turns having fun with him, Clarence combing his hair (washing up time), Jovann pouring "water" on his head. R's mommyherself fed him pretend milk. :P

Jovann caught finishing the last dregs of the hot chocolate hubby made for Clarence (C didn't touch it). Sigh...one day I must teach him 偷吃要抹嘴!

Reubern giving Jovann a tight hug goodnight. J was protesting!

J hugs back!
