We dropped Jovann off at his ma ma's place, and reached Singtel Recreation Club at 10.30am.
We each set off to our respective tasks. Hubby to set up the laptop, projector and sound system to play Jovann's montages. Me to put up the decoration. Hubby's friends Kenneth, Tian Long and Steve arrived at 11.15am and the preparation work is in full force! cut-outs went up, poster, banner, 1st birthday sign, cupcakes arrived with Joyce, Cheryl Shuen arrived with the cake, Melissa and sister arrived with the yummy desserts from Peaberry and Pretzel, balloons arrived with the balloon man (wow! gorgeous! the balloons I mean!), and the videographer came. 12.45pm - Elaine arrived with the rental toys, cool! and lastly, Nick my photographer came, and I escaped to the bathroom to pump after making sure everything is okie.
When I came out, the first guests have arrived! and of course the Star and Prince of the day, my little Jovann, smart in his new clothes from Ah Ma. The party has started!!!

There were around 33 cupcakes surrounding my birthday cake. They were mostly personalised with all my little guests names on it!
Mommy did this scrapbook over the past 1,2 months... at least, she started 2 mths ago, but didn't have time to complete it until later hehee. Photos taken on my 10mth!
Mommy bought this guest book 2 days before the party, and decorated the cover the night before when I was asleep. Not bad for a last min job yar? :)

Reubern's here too! My good friend Reubern playing in the playarea. Little Clarice... she's really sweet and shy that day! daddy's cousins.... see my table centrepiece....NICE? It has my photos on it! :) there are 3 pieces of this, and it goes to Ah Gong, Ma Ma and Daddy&Mommy after the party. There are also 4 picture party cones lying around, and Auntie Brenda stole one of it back home. :P
Everyone attempted to carry me the whole party, but I mostly stick to Ah Gong, Ah Ma, Gong Gong, Ma Ma and my parents of course. the Only ones i allowed to carry me was Dua Bei, Zi Zek Gong, Gu Ma, and Mommy's 2 cousins! The latter was when Auntie Cindy gave me some sweets to hold in my hand.

Jovann:.... patience is the key.......the car is mine! heheee.... My presents are building up... Finally, my cake cutting time!!! yippee! It was nearing 3pm. and they saw that I was rather tired and sleepy looking and figured wisely to cut the cake before I turn grouchy. They were just in time. It's tiring to resist adults' advances to carry me you know? Simply exhausting......

Initially, I was grouchy, but once my friends started to sing me my birthday song, I calmed down and give a sheepish look, gazing around at the singing adults.... I know the song is for me!
Cupcakes given out to my little guests... :) They love it! Auntie Li'an touching my cake to test if the precious moments figurines are real! hehhee. are they? Later on, mommy's secondary school sanba clique of friends stayed until quite late. We had a good time inside the reading room (it was booked for my party too in case the lounge is not big enough).

Mommy did up nice little invites for me, to be send to my guests. It even comes with a little ducky sticker behind to "seal" the envelope. (Actually its self-sealing lah, Mommy just hiao wanna put the ducky there. sssssshhhhh......) oh and it comes with a map toO!

Held at The Legends....such a nice sounding place isn't it? Legends.......echos of the mystic, romance and class.... Mommy initially wanted to hold my birthday celebration here also, thanks for Auntie Peachie's recommendation. But as their high tea timing is my nap timing, this option is kinda out. OH well, at least I get to attend a PARTY there!!
Clarence looks so cute that day, and his cake is so cute too! with marshmallow lollipops his mommy bought from B.I.Y. I met baby Rae-Ann, Alexis there as well. Alexis tried to play with me by swiping her hands across my face and body, but I just woke up, in a very laid back dun-mess-with-me mood. and I cried! Mommy daddy din console me much, coz Mommy feels big boys shldn't cry, so I stop after a while. hehee.
But when Rae Ann played with me, it was fun!! She talks to me a lot in her baby language, and I replied back. Our parents were amused we were holding a conversation heheee...she is such a pretty darling, don't you tink? This photo is taken after Clarence cake cutting, 3babies were plonked on the sofa. Clarence was busy surveying his guests, and Rae Ann and me put our arms around each other! My left arm encircled her shoulders and she did the same. buddy buddy leh....Don't I look like a big boy protecting a pretty damsel??? :) she is so sweet lah her...I like her very much, and I think she likes me too, don't you? :P See our ballroom dance.... got standard a not? Sorry friends and fellow mommies, think i have been lazy in updating my blog recently. besides being sick and down with sore throat and a persistent cough (I saw GP 4 times, i finished 2 course of antibiotics and 3 bottles of cough mixture, 9 bottles of chuan pei herbal drink, 2 cans of snake water, 2 strips of lozenges, pi pa gao, manuka honey, salt gurgle, everything!!!) for almost 4 weeks now, I am also planning for Jovann's 1st Birthday BasH!!! where got time??? I just saw a chinese physician and she said I will recover within 3 days with her medicine. After taking her med, I am coughing harder than ever especially at night, close to coughing my lungs out. cannot talk without coughing. Its so embarrassing when I have coughing fits in the office, outside, at coffee shops, I feel as if I am contagious, aiyoh... but I am very considerate, I use a tissue to cover my mouth when I cough in public, and use a mask at home with near to Jovann. Sigh...this is so tiring, hope I get better soon. A friend just suggested today that I try bird nest. Why didn't I think of that?
Planning this party is both great fun and stress. the stress part is the guest list. There's so many people I wanna invite! so many ppl who has shown love to Jovann in one way or other, played a part in his life the past 12 months. But try as I might, I couldn't fit everybody into my guest list, because hubby's side of the family is HUGE and our venue cannot fit all that we wish to invite. Really a tough decision to make......but Jovann wants all of you to know that he loves EACH and EVERY one of you whether or not you are at his party can? *smooches and hugz*.
Finally! Mommy has not updated my blog for nearly a month now! Hmph. But I know I cannot blame her, she has been busy with work, with planning my upcoming 1st birthday party, and she still is down with coughing and sore throat since 2 Fridays ago. She has been sleeping in the living room for the past 4 nights to avoid passing it to me, poor mommy. My cot has to be dismantled if they wish to move it out of the masterbedroom, and now is not a good time to do it, so Mommy has to sleep outside. She also wears a mask when nursing me at night, just in case.
I am 11months, 2 days old! I am growing so big! Things I like or can do now.... * Put my hands up and down when Daddy Mommy say "hands up!" or "hands down!" * pat my chest when they ask where is Jovann Teo or in chinese version "shei shi Zhang Han Ming"? * touch my head when asked where's my head * Do gong xi gong xi * Do a bouncy sorta dance when standing up, with one hand holding onto something * stand unsupported for like 5 seconds * stood up by myself when holding a toy in my hands at Ah Gong Ah Ma's place. * climb up to the sofa by myself. Climb down from the sofa by myself. * climb up and down the 3 steps in gong gong ma ma's living room by myself. * play the tamborine and xylophone. but not much people can appreciate the music I make. :P * stack the stars on the stacking toy * call "Pa Pa". Daddy is elated! He won this round. * Call ah gong "Ah Ba"...hahahaaa... Ah Ma said I know my ah gong wanna eat duck meat. * When Mommy Daddy comes home, I will call out " ah ahh ahhhhh...." with my arms outstretched towards them. If Daddy is in the way, I will kinda push him away to reach Mommy hehehe.
Tonight, at Ah Gong's place, I was zooming around in my walk, screaming and laughing and super stimulated chasing after Daddy and anyone who plays with me. I actually kept that up for 1/2 hour, entertaining myself when they are eating fruits, screaming happily. Mommy and Daddy was wondering where I got the energy from.

I didn't even want to get out of the walker when anyone tried to carry me up. But Ah Ma and Mommy decided I had enough, coz I felt cold and clammy with sweat and exertion when they touched my arms. Mommy took the struggling me out of the walker and bundled me up for the trip back home (I was sweating too much after exertion and Mommy wanna keep my warm).....the struggling bundle soon became the tame bunny when I am no longer in my vehicle of amusement....... the tired and defeated and totally exhausted expression on my face kept them laughing so much, but I got no energy left to scold them for taking my photos.
Last weekend, I sat in the study room chair and looked as if I owned the workspace. Don't I look like a big boss?
Mommy bought my this set from Fox baby and she likes it very much. Its a lazy Sunday morning and I am as usual crawling all over the living room, grabbing things and throwing them aside the next moment.
On the day I turned 11 months, I also tasted formula milk for the First Time! Mommy introduced me to Similac Follow on, Stage 2 formula. She has 3 sample tins of Nestle, Similac and Enfapro in the cabinet and decided to start on Similac. Mommy making formula milk for the first time! Its for my cereal. She say to start in my cereal first, to get my accustomed to the taste. I ate my cereal without noticing anything was amiss!
Yipeee, tomorrow is a SPECIAL DAY. Because I am going to collect my PASSPORT! I can travel the WORLD with THIS PASSPORT! :) I am SO HAPPY! My first trip will be to Melbourne!
