The Day before Jovann's 2nd CNY

Its Clothes Clothes Galore! I cannot believe how much clothes he has, many of which I sheepishly suspect he will only wear once before he outgrows it. But yet I cannot resist buying more. Every few months we have to sort through his clothes and put away the old ones to free up space in his cupboard for new ones.. :P

Let's check out how many clothes little Jovann has for his 2nd CNY. Much more than his first CNY of course. many of this are bought over the months, some a month before CNY. And yep, he has 4 pairs of new shoes...the bottom row are your gai gai clothes, the top right hand is home wear and casual wear, and upper left corner your new PJs.

Oh and I must add, the clothes are lying on brand new 600 threadcount Eygyptian cotton bed sheets from Karen Neuburger. It was a steal from a Taka Sale, and Mommy only managed to get them coz Auntie Grace reserved some for us during her Taka conquest that time. Thanks Auntie Grace! When I changed into the brand new bedsheets before CNY, the touch of the fabric was like liquid silk. Gorgeous..... we have always used Peri or Sheridian, but have never tried KN's egyptian cotton....

Reunion Dinner at Ma Ma's!

You had your Reunion dinner at Ah Gong and Ah Ma's place the night before, 2 days before CNY. It was yummy steamboat with side dishes of sharks fin, steamed chicken, vegetables with prawn, abalone, and your Ah Gong Ah Ma's famous stewed Dua Cai. And today, its at Ma Ma's place and she has donned her chef's apron and singlehandedly whipped out 8 fantastic dishes to feed a family of 9 adults and 1, 2 kids! Yummy!

See Daddy's cheeks so puffy with food...

There's soya sauce tiger prawns, fried ngoh hiang, curry chicken, fried chicken wings, steamed fish, mixed vegetables, stewed pork with mushroom & fa cai and fish maw soup!

Aquaducks

Aquaducks

Jovann has been with Aquaducks since October I think. Auntie Joanne has been asking Mommy to blog about it as she wanted to see how Jovann is enjoying himself there. Reubern enjoyed himself tremendously at the trial but due to time constraint they have not enrolled him although she wanted to.

Aside from the first 1, 2 lessons when Jovann tend to whine and was apprehensive, the rest of the time he doesn't need warming up at all. He started grinning and splashing and chuckling once he is in the water. He enjoys himself so much that knowing he enjoys it gave us the push to wake up early every sunday to bring him to class, and for us to enroll him for the next term (started Jan).

Arianne loves the water too!

The idea of aquaducks for toddlers is to get them to LOVE water, get them to be used to the feeling of their body in the water, abolish their fears of getting their ears wet, or of water splashing over their head (which is useful as Jovann still fusses when we shampoo him), teaching them to blow out their breathe in fun bubbles under water, teaches them how to move in water to reach their toys. We sing songs like Wheels on the bus, Humpty Dumpty.... He loves HUmpty Dumpty. The adults love it too coz the toddlers look darn cute lined up and sitting on the ledge of the pool. At the count of 1, 2, 3, the parent is supposed to bring them down splashing into the water. Jovann loves this and will now wriggle wriggle his butt until he goes down himself into the water, hehehee.

Jovann don't mind getting his ears wet, and he even attempts to blow bubbles in the water nowadays. But he still don't like it when we pour water over his hair. He loves the catching toys time, and loves to go for the black and white soccer ball. He prefers a toy in each hand though.

That day after aquaducks we went to GWC to have lunch and buy his grocers. Daddy went off to wash his bowls after we fed him, and I was fooling around with Jovann in the foodcourt. :)

1 Daddy and a Baby

So proud of Daddy.

on 4th and 5th Feb, Ma Ma busy with preparing CNY reunion dinner so asked Daddy for time off. Daddy stayed at home with you alone for 2 whole days. When Mommy wakes up in the morning, I tiptoed around so as not to wake you up, prepared your milk (without adding hot water yet), and arranged your bf ingredients on the kitchen tabletop as a suggestion to Daddy what to feed you, and scoop the rice into the slow cooker. Then I left the house.

When you woke up those 2 days, Daddy made milk for you to drink, prepared breakfast for you (cereal with fruits or avocado with yogurt those 2 days), had his own breakfast, played with you, then made you nap around 11am. Those 2 days, you were super super guai and ting hua with Daddy. Daddy told me that when its your nap time, he just switched off the tv, your toys, and tell you "lets go to bed, its naptime" and walked to the room. YOu will follow, sometimes with your water bottle (morning), sometimes not. If its the afternoon nap, Daddy will put you in the cot while he went to make milk for you. and you did not even fuss!!! You will drink your milk in the cot, Daddy telling you "let me know when you are done", then lie down on the bed beside your cot. When you finished drinking or had enough, you passed the bottle to Daddy, and Daddy tucked you in, and you just started to doze off with Daddy beside you, all by yourself! you weren't like that when Mommy is around!

In the afternoon, Daddy prepared your lunch, from the slow cooker since morning. And feed you. you were very cooperative with him those few days, and he was so proud of you. Some days he bring you over to Ah Ma's plc after your lunch to leave you there for 45mins so he can have his own lunch downstairs. Then he brings you back home, plays with you before your nap time. In the late afternoon after your nap, he plays with you and then packs the stuff to bring to Ah Ma's house to cook for dinner. And when Mommy knocked off work those 2 days I joined you there.

Daddy even have time to wash the clothes and hang them out.

Aren't you proud of your Daddy Jovann? :)
