A Typical Week

19 Jan 2008 Saturday

We took out the plastic clock from the post office and taught
you to say Clock Clock. And u attempted it!!! though it sounded
more like "Gog Gog"!!! hehehe so CUTE!

That same day, we asked you to say "ball ball", and you also
tried it, saying it without the "LL" behind hehehe. Love you Jovann.
you really love learning nowadays.

Today when approaching Daddy's car in the carpark, you actually
shouted out proudly "Da da Car!!!" hehehe :)

21 Jan Monday
You said "bird Bird" today. though it sounded like "ber ber"!
hehehehe super cute.

23 Jan Wednesday.
Ah Gong Ah Ma's place. very funny today. think you really
understand hokkien. Ah Ma was playing with you in the living
room when she noticed a bite on one of your legs. she left you
sitting there and went to the kitchen to tell Ah Gong, informing
him in hokkien that you have a bite on your leg. You seemed to
understand, coz the next moment you stood up and walked to the
kitchen, went up to Ah Gong, bent down and pointed at your leg
and made a lot of noise heheheee. so funny!!!! as if telling
him "yes yes, its here....see ?? on my leg....!"

24 Jan Thursday
On the lift up to Ah Gong's place. You really are an auntie
charmer. in the lift was an old auntie who didnt look friendly
in the beginning. halfway up you turned and gazed at her, then
started waving at her in hello, with a grin on your face. The
lady couldn't resist waving back at you and smiling. There,
you charmed another heart. You kept on waving at her when we
walked out of the lift, even blew a fly kiss which she returned.
Daddy Mommy laughing all the way. You love being so friendly to
aunties and uncles you see in the lifts, in supermarkets....and
in turn they love talking to you, waving at you, pinching your
face, and attempting to carry you. You won't have it).

Ah Ma told us today that when they brought you down to NTUC,
Ah Gong brought you aside while Ah Ma went to queue up for 4D.
When she reached the counter, the lady behind the counter (whom
have played with you before) asked where's her grandson. Ah Ma
said he is outside coz not supposed to bring baby to the counter
mah. On hearing that, the lady actually left her post, walked
out of the counter area and went looking for you to play with
you for a few minutes! AIyoh....hehehehe!

25 Jan Friday
When the taiwanese show Ah Ma was watching ended, the credits
start to roll and music played. You suddenly lift up both
your hands in the air, and swayed to the music...and turned on
the spot in tune with the music. So funny to see! Daddy quickly
grabbed Ah Gong's cam and video some of it down. Its the first
time Mommy saw your dance like that with your hands in the air
hehehe! When the music ended, you ended your dance routine and
clapped for yourself!

Family Hierloom

Daddy wants Mommy to record this momentous day in your life. :)

18 Jan 2008. Friday

You turned 16months today. Happy 16months Darling!
And on this day, Daddy finally bought something he has thought long and hard of.
He has been thinking over it for months now, pondering over the pros and cons, the considerations, the cost.....the design to buy.....and finally he has bought IT.

He intends this to be something he can pass to you next time when you grow up. And something you can pass on to your son when HE grows up....and your son to your grandson when HE grows up....and so on...

I think you will like it darling.
Daddy hope you do.

...After all, he has bored Mommy silly day in day out with questions the past month...finally I can now eat my meals in peace hehehe.

**
And now to something about how you spent today. :)

Ah Ma was trying to put you to nap this morning around 10.30am. Ah Gong went to the toilet to do his business, which usually takes 1/2hour (hope he don't read this). When he's about done, he heard you banging on the toilet door and yelling for him to get out. Ooops...your Ah Ma has failed in her attempts to make you sleep. You yelled and banged until he came out, upon which you held him firmly by the hands, lifted up one of your feet to show him, then led him out to the living room, then the shoe cabinet, took out your shoes, passed them to him, and sat down on the floor with your feet out. You wanted to go downstairs to gai gai!!! hahahahaha! they had no choice but to bring you down of course.

Mommy asked Ah Gong to buy you a 16mths present, but he searched and searched but could not find anything suitable, so he didn't get you anything.

Its okie, Daddy bought you something. *GRIN* but you can only use it when you are 16yrs old...perhaps not even then hahaha!

Step Up!

15 Jan 08 Tuesday

Yesterday, some of us got a brilliant idea from another mommy who have recently taught her little one to step up onto a stool to wash her hands before and after her meals. Sounds so cute and independent if our kids can do it. I know Jovann loves to wash hands. He will rub the hands together when we tell him "wash hands" in either english, chinese or teochew. And when he is washing his hands (we holding him), and we asked him to "soi bin (wash face)", he will splash water onto his face. very funny to watch heheee.

So last night when we reached home (since we worked we can't ask him to wash hands before and during meals in the day lah), we brought him to the bathroom, placed a step stool below the sink, and helped him up. taught him how to switch on the tap and he happily rubbed his hands and played with water. Of course, being him, he got carried away and splashed water all over his clothes.

Tonight, when we reached home, we led him to the bathroom, and asked him to step up to wash his hands. he reached up, held onto the edge of the sink for support, and stepped up the stool. then turned on the tap himself. and "washed" his hands. hehehe! but next moment, he splashed water all over himself again. But so fun! hehehe!

Another thing to remember tonight is also that he said "car car" for the first time. When coming out of Ma Ma's house, Ma Ma was carrying him walking past Gong Gong's car to Daddy's car. Ma Ma told him she is bringing him to Daddy's car. and Jovann went "car car car"......though it now sounds more like "gar gar gar". When she walked past Gong Gong's car, she told him thats Gong Gong's car car. and Jovann immediately responded with a "Gong Gong Car!" hehehe so CUTE!

16 Jan 08 Wed

But Ah Gong told us that today, you actually lugged out the stool from his bathroom, placed it in front of the sofa in the living room, and used it to step up onto the sofa! OOoops. Looks like its TIME to put grills on our windows.

You were very very naughty at Ah Gong's place today. Firstly, you refused to sleep your morning nap, wanting to go out to play. ended up you nearly fell asleep in your highchair mins after your lunch. Ah Gong was cutting your nails for you when you nod off!!!

**

**

Also, when you were at NTUC today, Ah Gong said you kept playing with the shopping basket, insisting on pushing it along the floor, and proceeded to empty the basket by throwing its contents all over the floor, and refusing to be carried! They had their hands full taking care of you today!

Jovann calls Gong Gong!

Gong GONG!

14 Jan 2008. 4 days before you turn 16 months.

9.07am, Daddy called me on the office phone from Ma Ma Gong Gong's place. With the words "he called Gong Gong already!". He put you to the phone, and asked you to call mama first. you obliged. Then asked you to call "Gong Gong". you followed with a clear but soft "Gong.. Gong...". so sweet to my ears!!! so happy! it sounded like you were scolding Gong Gong...but I am sure they won't complain. it sound so sweet. you used to say it sounding like "ge gng..." but now you managed it.

Its significant to us...because it means you have now learn to call all your immediate loved ones. Ma ma, Dad, Daddy, Da-da, Ma Ma, Ah Ma, and now Gong Gong!

Love you Jovann!

Bedtime, lights out

Today is Monday 14 Jan 2008.

We used to ...

...feed you your night milk feed with 2 bedside lamps on, casting a warm soft glow in the masterbedroom.
...brushing your teeth, cleaning it with cloth...
...switch off one bedside lamp, leaving only one one
...putting you into sleeping bag and ...
...spending the next back breaking 1 hour trying to make you sleep.
..most of the time, you will be sitting up in bed cheekily, pulling my hair, sayaning me, poking me in the leg when i lie down beside you....you get the pic.

and then...one day....eureka! I have always been wondering what I am doing wrong. I have made sure I kicked off your bad habit of nursing to sleep by dropping your night feed first. We have made sure you have a bedtime routine since 1 mths old. you have slept through the night since before 4 months...I have made sure all soft voices when bedtime starts, soft lights, spa music. so what are we doing wrong that you need to torture me for an hour, sometimes more before you will fall asleep?

so now...mommy has changed some things since 11 Jan 2008, Friday...

...feed you your night milk feed with only 1 bedside lamp on, casting a even softer glow in the masterbedroom.
...brushing your teeth, cleaning it with cloth...
...switch off the last bedside lamp, leaving only a dim light from the bathroom (even this is tuned to the DIMMEST). The room is now so dark you cannot see our wedding photo collage which you will sometimes point at happily at night.
...putting you into sleeping bag and ...
...carrying you for 5 mins, not rocking.
... putting you in bed when you indicated so.
.. getting into bed and pretend to sleep (i have done it before but it don't seem to work as well as now)
...sometimes reaching out a hand to pat your bottom..
...you will drift into dreamland within 30mins. thats a record already. During this 30mins, you may get up a few times, passing me your bolster, as if you worried my huge bolster is not comforting enough for me. if i take your bolster, you will pass me another bolster, then your pillow. darling, then what will that leave you with? But I needn't worry, coz after you pass me all of it, you realised you want it back, and will ask me for it until i give them all back.
...on the 4th night, you took 15mins to fall asleep. You fell asleep on MOnday 14 Jan at 9.18pm.
... :)

YEAH!

*cross fingers*

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Today so silly, when rushing out to Aquaducks, we realised we forgot to bring your swimming trunks! Arrrrrrghhhh!! doubled back to take, but realised its too late to rush there. So we decided to go Tanglin Mall to get your groceries and feed you lunch there. Auntie Brenda and Arianne joined us there after their swim.

It was such a hilarious time watching you and Arianne interacting. Auntie BRenda was commenting that its really a significant milestone in both of your development coz today you were showing a lot of interest in each other and interacting, talking and scolding a lot. You are sharing water bottles, snatching toys, sayang each other and kissing too hahaa. Its so silly all of us forgot to bring camera! At one time, Arianne took your water bottle and you wanted to snatch it back. You helped her opened up the straw to drink, but decided you want it back instead so you grabbed it. Arianne resisted and make an angry noise. You immediately stopped grabbing, and waved your hand, palm facing outwards, and going "ooohhhhh..!!". Daddy say it sounded like you are saying "cool it! you can have it, I hate it when girls cry". hahahaha....damn funny!

At one point, both of you were eating teddy puffs snacks. You tried to feed Arianne, but you dropped your teddy puffs on the way to her mouth. But sweet Arianne played along, and pretended to let you feed and even made chewing action! you tried feeding her again with an empty hand, and she ate the invisible "teddy puff" and chewed! hehehehe! so sweet lah you two.

Arianne seldom got mad at you even for snatching her things. But you get upset at her when she refused to give you things you want. You have to learn to control your emotions boy... at one point, you snatched so hard she was upset and protested loudly. you looked at her, and when mommy asked you to sayang her, you patted her gently on her head.

The next moment you took her pink water bottle to drink. and finished nearly everything!

All of us had such a great time watching you two and kept laughing at both of your little antics.

When back home, after your nap, Mommy brought you downstairs to the playground. Funnily today, you refused the rocking horse, and the rocking seat. You only want to play with the slide, and also to watch the gor gor playing his toy motor bike. :) you like watching bigger kids play too.

Holding onto my key pouch on the slide.

Struggling to get down from the rocking seat that you used to like so much the other time few months back.

Gazing wistfully at the motorbike zooming past you...

my darling son....

For dinner today, Mommy wanted to try out the Cream of Corn that Auntie Brenda shared the recipe on. Mommy figured if the starter is an ang moh soup, then the main dish should be angmoh too right? So mommy did your favourite potato stew with minced pork, broccoli and pumpkin.

Presenting.....your 2-course dinner....

Sigh.....it really shows babies are temperamental. You didn't finish your favourite dish tonight! and only took a token bit of the Cream of Corn, after Mommy slaved over the stove for a total of 45mins. Sigh....oh well......

Frolicking with Daddy on the sofa..

Your Favourite Things

You are 4 more days away from reaching 16months, darling.

How you are growing. I wish to embrace every single moment with you coz you are growing up so fast. I sound like a broken record for saying this, but its a sentiment I am sure many parents share at this age. Our babies are no longer babies, they are "toddlers" now. sigh...

Your favourite things at 16months old
  • Mommy's spiral notebook with a colourful pen slotted through the spiral. you can amuse yourself with that when drinking milk, pulling the pen in and out of the spiral, and clicking and unclicking the pen.
  • Your Adidas limited edition mini World Cup soccer ball, and the red rubber ball we bought from ToysRus. you like balls, and will now kick them around the house, or carry them one in each arm around the living room into the bedrooms and back.
  • Wash basins. you like to carry them around and try to spin them on the floor.
  • The Tomy Horse toy. It clips clops forward with a loud braying and hoofs noise from the horse when you press the rider down. You love it and will bounce on your bottom very enthusiastically when it moves, and you make some noise to accompany it.
  • plastic cups with lids. Or plastic bowls with lids. You also like to use spoon with an empty bowl and pretend to be scooping food to feed me and yourself.
  • Your pooh bear, Eeyore, and piglet. You love kissing them. Mommy got a video of you kissing Eeyore and its so cute hehe. And you like to pass my piglet so that Mommy can play hand puppet with it to make you smile. Once when you refused to eat your lunch, Mommy put piglet on the table and feed her. Every time she takes one spoon you will take one too hehee. And you love to pretend to feed Pooh Bear milk from your milk bottle.
**

**

  • Your new Tomy Disney cooking stove. It makes boiling and sizzling sound when you switch on the 2 stoves to stew soup or fry egg respectively.

Little chef at work...
**

**

  • Real soup ladles. YOu like watching mommy cook, where I use the ladle to stir you porridge or meals. So you imitate me and will dig for those ladles when rummaging in the kitchen cupboards. you will then pretend to stir the pot over the stove, or you will bring it into the living room and try to stir it in your toy soup pot. or even in your cereal bowl when mommy feeding you.
  • you recently love to BITE. though many babies love to bite some months back, but you were never interested to bite us. Until today (14 Jan sunday). You bite my thigh, then my shoulder. then tried to bite my chest! Giggling all the way when I yelled out.
  • Our key pouches. You especially like to remove the cards from Daddy's keypouch and then throw the keypouch away keeping the cards or the other way round.
  • you love wearing socks and shoes and letting us apply sun block on your face or combing your hair. This has been for a very long time. You will quiet down and stay very calm and guai whenever we do these things for you. you super hiao loh...

Sleep Issues

Ever since 5 Jan 08, you have been waking up a few times every night. Its not the usual kinda waking up, where a bit of patting or carrying or soothing can put you right back to sleep. You wake up crying pitifully, as if you have had a terrible nightmare. But when we tried to carry you, you will swipe our hands away and resist us. Sometimes with eyes closed, sometimes opened a bit. Many times, we can only stand there helplessly waiting for you to be conscious or calm enough for us to carry you up. We feel so helpless.

And even after carrying you, feeding water, or rocking, its very very hard for you to fall asleep again. On 5 Jan 08, you woke up 3 times. Daddy came home late that day at 2plus am, and you woke us up at 3am plus, 4 am plus and 5am plus. all crying and both of us couldn't put you back to sleep fitfully. you will sense we have stopped patting you and cry again.

The following night, abit better but you still woke up this way.

On Monday night, Mommy not feeling well so slept at a record time of 10.30pm, only to have you wake up at 11pm crying the same way. The rest of the night, you woke up 2 more times again.

We feel so helpless as we do not know whats wrong. Sometimes you stop right after Daddy bring you out of the bedroom and switched on the outside lights. Sometimes it doesn't work. Mommy checked with her group of Mommy kakis, and this are some thoughts after the discussion.

  • MOmmy feel sure its not over stimulation coz since we know you are affected by that, we have not been overstimulating you right before bedtime. we make sure the env is calm and quiet. And during nights of overstimulating evenings, your crying is not like this.
  • Mommy also suspected it could be me scolding you before you slept coz you kept pulling my hair very very cheekily, and sometimes hitting me on the face. Even after scolding you in a fierce tone, you still grinning cheekily at me. But on Friday 11 Jan Mommy tried another method of responding to your hair pulling and hitting(i can bun up my hair, and i refused to get angry when you still do it). But you still woke up crying.
  • Mommy friends suggested that it could be teething pains. I initially did not thought of it coz you have never known to be so affected by teething at night. But Auntie Grace informed me that the first molars usually comes in between 14-16mths, and you are 15months 3 weeks old now. So its very likely! coz in the morning you are not grouchy at all.
  • Ah Gong suggested it could be tummy upset coz you tend to overeat at certain times. But the mommy friends I asked said it should not be coz if its indigestion or tummy hurt by overeating, you would have vomited out the meal, grouchy throughout the day, or not eating well. But the sympthoms are not thus. In any case, Daddy on Sat 12 Jan applied ru yi oil on you, but you still woke up 2 times during the night. However, Daddy said these 2 times of waking up is slightly different from the past few nights....lets cross fingers.
  • When playing with you tonight (14 Jan Sunday), Mommy thought I spotted a white spot in your right lower gum! But on attempts at closer checks, you refused to open your mouth and I cannot confirm. Is your first molar coming out Jovann darling?
  • Or could it be a case of teething, thats why you put things in your mouth, and end up with more bacteria in your gut, thus leading to mild stomach upset which was somewhat soothed by the ru yi oil? Which means you are disturbed at night by both things i.e. teething pains and tummy aches...poor boy. :(

All in all, this period is not easy. BUt then, this is part and parcel of parenthood isn't it? No matter how tired Mommy and Daddy is during the night wakings, all tiredness (or rather, frustrations) evaporated when you give us your first smile the next morning.

Let's hope things get better soon .....

Pebbles....

9 Jan 08 Wed

At Ah Gong's place, I kept sticking very close to Ah Gong the whole day these few days, and didn't allow him to do his work properly. During days of looking after me, Ah Gong's works involves bathing for me, making my breakfast, lunch and dinner, and washing up, as well as cleaning the floor regularly and playing with me. OH, and Ah Gong Ah Ma also cooks dinner for all the adults. Ah Ma's duties are feeding me, watching me while Ah Gong cooks for me, making my nap and sleep. So if I stick close to Ah Gong whole day, means he is unable to focus on preparing food for me in the kitchen. Coz now I like to walk to the kitchen, opening all the cabinets and drawers and ransacking most of the things. I like to make noise with the pots and pans on the floor, as well as the plastic basins on the floor that they use to wash my utensils and bowls or some to wash vegetables in. I tend to carry one in each hand and walk around the house with them, sometimes trying to imitate what Ah Gong do when he twirls them on the floor and make it turn and give off a lovely noise.

Today, Ah Gong told Mommy that when he happen to be feeding me today, and I refused to eat, he scolded me in a firm tone. I reacted by putting my fingers into my ears and pursing up my lips! hehehee... Mommy laughed when she heard that.

When Ah Ma wanted to bring me downstairs to the playground around 6pm plus to wait for Daddy Mommy, she told me so in chinese. Somehow I could understand and quickly wanted her to carry me up to wear my shoes and happily went downstairs.

11 Jan 08 Fri
Today Ah Gong cooked his yummy fried bee hoon again! Mommy so upset coz she coughing and she can't eat it with chilli padi, so she feels so terrible. But I like it, so I kept disturbing Ah Ma and doing the "eat" and "more" signs hehehee. At one time, I was so confused and anxious I did mixed both the signs up and did both together.

12 Jan 08 Sat
Today, Mommy tried out Auntie Brenda's recipe for baked cheese toast with me! I like it! Though I eat so slow I only managed 2 pieces. I then had for lunch stir fried spinach and minced pork with garlic and pork stock, with porridge. Its Mommy's first time marinating the minced pork with sesame oil and premium soya sauce. Really yummy!

After our dinner tonight, Mommy and I had a giggling time on the sofa. The TV was showing something saying "End of the World" (Don't rem what), and Mommy hugged me and said "it doesn't matter if its the end of the world as long as we have Jovann.", and gave me a tight tight squeeze. Surprisingly, I didn't resist and I let her squeeze and seemed to be enjoying it, grinning all over my face and chuckling happily. Mommy squeeze me tight tight many many times hehehe!

Today during bedtime, Mommy did the baby signing times sign with me, and I imitated her on the sign for "baby"! She's so pleased she showed it to Daddy when he came in with my milk.

Stats at 15 months 3 weeks

Mommy brought me to the PD today to have my flu booster jab. Coz just before Mommy Daddy brought me to Melbourne after my 1yr birthday, Australia was having a flu outbreak and it was fatal for some children. So Mommy Daddy gave me a flu jab before the trip just in case.

So today, on 7 Jan 08, we have arranged with Auntie Joanne and Reubern for an appointment on the same day, half an hour apart. Hehehe. Coz we have the same PD. But as it is, I was having my morning nap in the car with Daddy, so Mommy helped me registered and registered for Reubern as well. When the nurse informed that it's my turn soon, Mommy went to fetch me from the car while Daddy went to look for a parking lot.

I was quite blur blur after my nap, very befuddled state. So was quite demure and "well-behaved" throughout. Reubern was very awake and running around being chased by his Daddy hehehee.

I cried for a few seconds when I was jabbed, but stopped quite soon lah coz I have my share of hugs and cuddles.

At 15months 20 days
My Weight => 10.8kg
My Height => 78.5cm

Auntie Joanne said the nurse mentioned average boy's weight around 77cm at this age, so I am a bit bit taller lah.......hor??? hehehehhe! Mommy is happy with my weight though!

A photo taken with Auntie Joanne.

Chicken Baked Rice

For the Xmas Party on 29 Dec, I made chicken baked rice. I like this dish for the longest time but I am still trying to perfect it. My first few attempts a few years back was quite dismal, lacking a certain something to make it like the baked rice I eat outside. Anyway, along the way, although I believe I improve upon my own version, I decided it will NEVER taste like what I eat outside :( , so I contented myself with my own version of baked rice hehehe. Fortunately that day, it tasted quite edible lah, hehee :P

Ingredients
Chicken Thighs (my estimate is one thigh per pax for small groups)
Mushrooms (cup mushrooms, button mushrooms or portabello)
Capsicums (I love it colourful, so I used all the 3 colours green, yellow, red)
Shredded Mozarrella cheese

Seasoning
Fresh thyme leaves
Ground black pepper
Italian herbs
Garlic salt

Others
Olive oil
Mushroom pasta sauce (cream coloured one, I forgot the brand)

Steps
- Wash the chicken thighs, de-skin and de-bone it. (keep the bones, throw away skin)
- Scald the bones with boiling water, then pour them into pot of boiling water to make chicken stock to be used later. I boil and simmer for around 2-3 hours.
- Cut the meat into bit size pieces. Marinate with a bit of olive oil, fresh thyme leaves, italian herbs, ground black pepper and garlic salt. put into fridge for at least an hour (I marinate overnight that day)
- Prepare capsicums by removing the seeds and stem. Cut into chunks. Wash and soak in water for a while
- Peel mushrooms and remove stem. Cut into slices.
- When stock is ready, wash rice with tap water and steam rice with the appropriate amount of chicken stock (I used all stock, no water). Add fresh thyme leaves and italian herbs into the rice cooker. Start steaming rice.

When rice is ready.
- Heat some butter in a big saucepan (I did it in a pot for easy stirring later).
- When butter has melted, add in mushrooms and sauteed until turns soft.
- Add in chicken pieces and sear until exterior is brown but interior still raw (seal in juices for baking later).
- Pour in some mushroom pasta sauce. When heating up, add in the right amount of rice and stir.
- Add in capsicums and mix well.
- Can add more salt at this stage if desired but I didn't (the pasta sauce already has salt and the chicken has been marinated in garlic salt). Can add more chicken stock if rice too dry
- Remove from heat and stir in some mozzarella cheese.
- Pour mixture into baking dish. Cover over generously with mozzarella cheese, put into preheated over (around 200 deg) and bake for 20mins or until cheese at the top turns brown.
- Serve piping hot!

I like this dish partly coz can keep in fridge and eat the next day by heating up in oven hehee. :P

Happy New Year 2008!

Welcome 2008! Its the first day of the Brand New Year, Jovann. May you enjoy good health and happiness whole year round, and may everyone be blessed with health, wealth and good tidings!

This morning, around 9am, Mommy slowly awakened and wondered what time is it and how come you have not made noise. I opened my eyes, and saw that you are already standing in the corner of your cot, looking at us from beside the pillow blocking our bed. I quickly closed my eyes, but it was too late, you had already seen me awake, so you started calling out already hehehe. :) So I sat up and gave you a smile and a morning greeting, and you called for us to carry you out. Its so cute that you were standing quietly there waiting for one of us to wake up hehee. :) Rarely do you do that coz most of the time you will be crying and calling out to wake us up to attend to you. Maybe you know its the New Year holiday. :)

We brought you to King Albert Park Macdonald's to have breakfast, as Mommy wish to stock up groceries for your meals. Experience from the West Coast outing made me prepare breakfast in advance for you (cooked oats porridge with stewed pears and yogurt on the side) and brought it out with us.

Macdonalds staff are so nice. Daddy was parking the car while Mommy went down to Macs to buy the bf before it ends at 11am. When carrying the tray and you away from the table, the cashier was worried if I can manage but I assured her I can. When I turned away, I passed by a Macs lady cleaning near the bottom of the stairs. She saw me and quickly gave me a hand though I said its okie. She took the tray from me and wanted to help me carry upstairs. Just then Daddy arrived. But it warms me inside that the aunties are so helpful. :)

You were entertained by the thermos flask while you eat.

Daddy put on his cap on your head. Its Mommy's turn to have her breakfast.

Daddy asking you who is Jovann Teo.

Later, we went to Cold Storage downstairs to stock up your groceries and ingredients. Daddy was loitering around the fresh meat section when he suddenly felt like cooking dinner for tonight. So he bought 2 steaks. Hehehee, Yeah! Mommy you kou fu le!

Today, you opened the remaining 3 of your presents at home. You have so many presents this year that you are still opening them on New Year Day! Today, you opened the FP Doodle Pro set, then the Bath Propeller Toy, and finally the Board book on Jesus. We helped you with tearing open the wrappers. So fun! coz you now know how to tear open presents if the paper is easily torn. :) and you do it with such a kaypoh expression on your face hehee.

Opening your Doodle Pro.

Daddy I can do it myself!

The Board book.

Mommy Daddy decided to try let you skip your morning nap since you don't appear tired, and let you nap at 2pm later so that you can wake up at 4pm and be put to bed early today.

You had dinner at 6.30pm. Mommy fed you (porridge cooked in pork/sweet corn stock with beef, broccoli and tofu) while Daddy prepared our New Year Day dinner! *SLURP*. the cooking scents from the kitchen is so tantalising!

Finally done! Our New Year's Day Dinner.
...Tenderloin Beef braised in red wine and garlic, grilled to perfection, served on a bed of sauteed spinach......With potatoes and baby carrots baked in cheese on the side...

We had this with red wine.

It tastes even better than it looks!

Mommy is so proud of Daddy. Jovann, are you? :)
After dinner, we played with you for around 20mins before we decide its time for early bed tonight (around 8.10pm). During this 20mins, you are your usual kaypoh self, toddling all over the house on your newfound walking skills, paying visits to the kitchen, to the bedrooms and all over the house.

Paying your token visit to the kitchen.

Daddy just shoo-ed you out.

For some reason, you kept holding your new bath propeller toy to your ear....is it because it resembles the shape of a ear thermometer????? Its such a cute sight hehee.

Mommy kept grabbing you up to kiss you. I think I am drunk from the red wine.

Struggling from Daddy's grasp coz you wanna watch one of your favourite commercial on TV (the Cold Storage advertisement)

see your kaypoh face??

HAPPY NEW YEAR JOVANN! Hope every DAY IS BLESSED, HEALTHY, JOYFUL AND FILLED WITH LOVE AND WARMTH FOR YOU ALWAYS ALWAYS!

New Year's Eve Party at Leonie

New Years Eve Party

We were invited to Uncle Malcolm and Auntie Sharon's place at Leonie Hill. Auntie Sharon's birthday falls on New Years Eve, so the day is always happening for her. :) It's Mommy's and mine 2nd time there but my 1st time at the roof top area. Its a gorgeous place, windy and cosy with soft lighting, a small pond, nice friends and company. I even got a nice goody bag from Auntie Sharon, I went around shaking the bell hehee. We were told to wear the theme of pink or brown, as it is the colour theme of their restaurant Peaberry & Pretzel I guess. So I am in my pink polo, same as DaddY! :) Mommy is in a brown dress.

Photos of the place, taken when I am enjoying my dinner.

Thats me in the corner being fed.

Uncle Malcolm checking everythings in order

Good food too.....Auntie Sharon and Uncle Malcolm prepared raw oysters, baked oysters with cheese (baked on the spot over a open grill) fried bee hoon, chicken curry with french loaf, self made popiah, huge tasty otahs, special dish of ba kua wrapped with cheese and omelette (real tasty!) and yummy chocolate fondue with green apples and bananas.

I am so busy checking out the place. Mommy and Daddy takes turns following me.

Dunno why I kept playing with this dustbin

Disturbing Uncle Malcolm

Disturbing Adele

Sweet Adele

Daddy was playing with you near the pool when you started stomping your feet, so Daddy made you dance to the song "When you are happy" and showed it to me. hehehe bear with the video as its a bit dark. YOu were asked to "clap your hands", "shake your head" and "stamp your feet" hehe.

I kept walking around, playing and talking to the Aunties and Uncles. I made alot of noise but they are so nice they don't seem to mind. At one point, was playing with Uncle Malcolm's Daddy and I kept changing my mind about wanting him to carry me, that he joked that I blow hot and cold. I was like that to some of the guys there that night, one moment leaning into their arms, the next yelling out for Mommy to carry me back. I interrupted a lot of their conversations, let a lot of ppl carry me, and I kissed Adele many times too, as well as kiss some of the Aunties. When we were about to leave, one of the Aunties said "you going off already? Not enough leh....come give me a kiss." I obliged with a wet kiss, and Auntie Sharon commented that I am an Auntie Killer, hehehe! such a cute phrase.

Me blowing hot and cold

Check out the view from the rooftop....Gorgeous. Can see Ngee Ann City so near...

Me with Auntie Annette

Me with the pretty BIrthday Girl, Auntie Sharon. Did you see our hair, so windswept! Coz the wind is really strong so high up!

The Birthday song! I am so happy to hear it I kept clapping.

We didn't join them for the New Year countdown at Peaberry as Mommy Daddy feel that my sleep is more important. We did the countdown at home. :) Daddy Mommy rushed into my room at 8 seconds before midnight, and took turns wishing me Happy New Year, kissing me on my left arm which happens to be hanging out through the cot bars, and planted kisses on my forehead. They feel that I make their New Year special every year just by being their son. Love you Daddy Mommy. :)
