Baby Friends

Reubern

I still remember the first time I met my first baby friend - Reubern di di! He is 11 days younger than me and his Mummy Auntie Joanne is my Mummy's good friend. He visited ouR place on 18 Nov and we had quite an interaction in the bed. Hey think straight! Its just us baby boys' way of getting each other's acquaintance.

Jovann : Helo Reubern... Box you!

Reubern : Hey you, BOx you back!

Jovann : Crap! Daddy caught me doing that!

Jovann & Reubern : Okie lah, let's be friends and hold hands instead

And this are our Mummies!

Der Nen and Cayden

Mummy brought me to a playgroup in early December, where I met Der Nen for the first time. Hey, check out the link to his blog too! He has sssuuccch big lovely eyes, just like his Mummy. That first lesson, I was just in a daze, confused what all the singing and dancing is all about. But Mummy seemed to enjoy it. The 2nd and 3rd lesson however, I caught on pretty fast, and hey! dancing is fun! so is the massage. I met Cayden gor gor too, and here's a pic of us exhausted after the playgroup.

Jeannieve Jie Jie's Birthday

Mummy's good friend's daughter is 2!!! I was invited to her birthday party and she has such a lurrvely birthday cake! Mummy mummy, can I have something like that for my 1st birthday pleeeaase? While waiting for the cake cutting, Daddy Mummy amused themselves with their favourite pastime again => taking photos of handsome me! But hey, I don't like this pose, heeeeellppp let me OUT!
Whew, thats a bit better...

You see you see, isn't the cake yummilicious??? and Jeannieve jie jie is so pretty! :)

Daddy's Birthday

Daddy is so excited, and proud coz his birthday will be the first I am celebrating! Gong Gong Ma Ma treated us to a nice dinner at Pontini Italian Restaurant in Grand Corpthorne. I was awake throughout but I didn't make a peep and was pretty well behaved considering how I usually am. Even Mama praised me! Actually the secret is Daddy Mummy made sure I sleep enough that afternoon hahaha.

That's me in Ma ma's lap and squealing at Gong Gong.

When I was in Mummy's tummy

Mummy just showed me today the few scrapbook pages she did when she was pregnant with me. Hey, I didn't know I was so tiny then, its amazing how I have grown. From that little shapeless bunch of cells in the sac till a complete baby with 10 fingers and 10 toes. Wowww.... I am amazed, so excited when I saw the pages.

Auntie Sharon's Birthday celebration

Uncle Malcolm and Auntie Sharon (oh btw they are also my god father and god mum hehehe), invited us to their little intimate party at NSRCC resort. Mummy dressed me up and Daddy couldn't resist revealing a bit of my as yet non-existent chest hair. Don't I look like a pai gia (bad egg)?

That was a lovely dinner, or so Mummy told me as I couldn't eat anything there. When Auntie Sharon saw me she couldn't resist taking a photo with me. *Whistle*...what a pretty lady eh?

And naturally, Daddy and Mummy din wanna lose out too so grabbed the long suffering me into a pose for the camera. BUt then again, I am wearing my ralph lauren romper so I am not complaining. Daddy has a matching top!

Jovann's First Christmas

On a trip to town before Christmas, Daddy Mummy came across the lovely Xmas deco set-up in Wisma. It has a little house with cute little windows, and lotsa Xmas trees. While we snapped away, many passerbys looked at us and smiled. Must be coz I look so cute in my little blue jumper bought by Auntie Honey, Auntie Mimi and Uncle Jerel. :)

Christmas is finally over! you won't believe what Daddy Mummy put me through during Christmas time. I mean, I know its my first Christmas with them and all that, but still.......

They dress me with a little santa hat, with matching red and white clothes. Funnily, mummy has quite a few of that. And....they took so many photos.....

Thank you to Zoh Zoh, Gong Gong Ma Ma, Ji Zek Ji Zim, Auntie Cecilia and Uncle Daniel, Shauna and Kieira zeh zeh, Uncle Malcolm and Auntie Sharon and Daddy Mummy!

Mummy Daddy brought me to meet 2 friends, Auntie Kelly with Baby Joshua and Uncle Kim Sun with Baby Darwin, babies of Mummy's U classmates whom she hasn't met for the longest time. It was a fun time, but I slept for the first half of the visit, but woke up in time for the photoshoot! hehehe.

Uncle Kim Sun's Baby Darwin is asleep in the sarong when this photo was taken. He was very sad, but no worries Mummy has included a photo of Baby Darwin here!

On Christmas Day itself I played Peek a Boo with Daddy! When Mummy knew it she was mad as I didn't seem to appreciate it when she played it with me. Sorry Mummy think its the Christmas mood...

Milestones and pebbles

Milestones, pebbles?

Its really rewarding being a mummy. So many joyful things to lift my heart every single day with Jovann. For more than a month now, he has started grabbing my hair very tight, and pulling it HARD. I told hubby it's like he is flushing the toilet. good training in advance.

He has also been turning onto his side a 2 weeks already. Only today he flipped from tummy to back. not sure if its considered turning but what the heck! hahaha. this is him just before he turned.

And he seems to love reading the softsound books. he will finger the pages, pull the items out, and helped me turn the pages. sometimes holding hard to the previous page and forbidding me to turn. Once he pulled out the baby kangaroo from the mother kangaroo's pouch, hehehe. and he has pulled out daddy's specs quite a few times.

He has also been squealing a lot nowadays. When he is happy, he squeals. When he is talking, he squeals. when he is demanding attention, he squeals before screaming. Gosh, is this how they train their vocal cords for future speech???

Some of the heartwarming things are when you are breary eyed from sleep and you trudged to his cot in response to his cries. and when you call out to him, he give you a gummy smile in return. How can anyone be angry of such a cute little thing for waking you from your precious sleep. And he has taken to looking up at me when lying down breastfeeding. He will disengage himself from my breast with a distinct popping sound and look up, eyes bright and smiling with a look that says "Hey, there's a head connected to the boobs!". Yes Jovann, glad you figured that out. He gaze at me so intently that no matter how sleepy I was I had to kiss that little forehead and smile. Those little things makes being a mummy worth while. It makes the changes in my life, the disruption in my routine, the endless
pumping and washing and sterilising and assembling, all of it worth it. Before this baby, we cannot imagine what life will be like with a little being turning our lives inside out. With Jovann now, we cannot imagine how we lived before he comes.

And of course, we have reached the stage where he puts everything and anything into his mouth, and drool continuously. what a lovely stage of endless bibs and tissues and damp t-shirts...

How he has grown too, its rewarding to see the benefits the breastmilk has given to him. Does he look different? Thats him at 2 mths and 3.5 months, about 1.5kg difference in weight but in the same ducky coveralls. The latter one looks like its Bao Ba Zang! I had a hard time trying to do up the last few buttons.

Our house has also changed so much with his arrival. His room used to be our 2nd storeroom and we needed a whole day cleaning it out to be sufficiently fit for baby. Our cosy spa tea corner which we used to entertain friends is also his cosy play corner now.

Before Jovann = cosy spa corner

With Jovann = colourful play corner

This is his nursery where he sleeps in most of the nights. I love the giraffes on the wall!

JoVaNn flipped today!

Jovann flipped, Jovann flipped!

yeah so happy! but his flipping was from his tummy to his back. is that counted? Maybe its a "do ba lek flip". but who cares?!!! he flipped today!
15 Weeks 5 days old, on the 6 Jan 2007. *BEAM*

Things we love about Jovann

Let us count thee ways...

His pout

Never fails to put a smile on my face. No, I am not a sadistic mum who revels in my baby's "suffering", but its so damn bloody adorable don't you think??? It melts my heart and yet makes me laugh at the same time. Didn't know a small baby can do that to me heart.

He usually does that when :
- he first wake up from nap and found nobody around him
- his cries are not heeded soon enough

- Gong Gong scold him "naughty boy" (must redeem himself by calling Jovann "handsome boy" after that to put his smile back)

- if you laugh at his earlier pout (thats why I am the viscious pout-creator)

His chuckles

I truly believe his 2 other favourite persons besides daddy and mummy of course, are Gong Gong and Ah Gong. They are best at making him laugh! he chuckles so loudly and screams with glee and mirth whenever they disturbed him and talked to him. Maybe doggie babies have an affinition with monkeys!

His delight when you take off his pants

No joke! His Ah Gong first discovered that when he placed Jovann on the changing table and pull off his shorts or pants or his diapers, he will smile even if he was brawling his lungs out before that. He sure like having his pants off yah hehehe! I told him he better be careful don't smile so innocently when eager girls take turns to undress him next time! hahahaa sick mummy.

Tummy Time

This morning Mummy wanted to put me on my tummy and take photos of me in my green giraffe PJs. I surprised them by lifting my head high and smiling at them for more than 2 mins! Mummy was calling out encouragement while Daddy snapped away. I had to stop posing after a while, its tiring to look handsome you know.
