Milestones, pebbles?

Its really rewarding being a mummy. So many joyful things to lift my heart every single day with Jovann. For more than a month now, he has started grabbing my hair very tight, and pulling it HARD. I told hubby it's like he is flushing the toilet. good training in advance.

He has also been turning onto his side a 2 weeks already. Only today he flipped from tummy to back. not sure if its considered turning but what the heck! hahaha. this is him just before he turned.

And he seems to love reading the softsound books. he will finger the pages, pull the items out, and helped me turn the pages. sometimes holding hard to the previous page and forbidding me to turn. Once he pulled out the baby kangaroo from the mother kangaroo's pouch, hehehe. and he has pulled out daddy's specs quite a few times.

He has also been squealing a lot nowadays. When he is happy, he squeals. When he is talking, he squeals. when he is demanding attention, he squeals before screaming. Gosh, is this how they train their vocal cords for future speech???

Some of the heartwarming things are when you are breary eyed from sleep and you trudged to his cot in response to his cries. and when you call out to him, he give you a gummy smile in return. How can anyone be angry of such a cute little thing for waking you from your precious sleep. And he has taken to looking up at me when lying down breastfeeding. He will disengage himself from my breast with a distinct popping sound and look up, eyes bright and smiling with a look that says "Hey, there's a head connected to the boobs!". Yes Jovann, glad you figured that out. He gaze at me so intently that no matter how sleepy I was I had to kiss that little forehead and smile. Those little things makes being a mummy worth while. It makes the changes in my life, the disruption in my routine, the endless pumping and washing and sterilising and assembling, all of it worth it. Before this baby, we cannot imagine what life will be like with a little being turning our lives inside out. With Jovann now, we cannot imagine how we lived before he comes.

And of course, we have reached the stage where he puts everything and anything into his mouth, and drool continuously. what a lovely stage of endless bibs and tissues and damp t-shirts...

How he has grown too, its rewarding to see the benefits the breastmilk has given to him. Does he look different? Thats him at 2 mths and 3.5 months, about 1.5kg difference in weight but in the same ducky coveralls. The latter one looks like its Bao Ba Zang! I had a hard time trying to do up the last few buttons.

Our house has also changed so much with his arrival. His room used to be our 2nd storeroom and we needed a whole day cleaning it out to be sufficiently fit for baby. Our cosy spa tea corner which we used to entertain friends is also his cosy play corner now.

This is his nursery where he sleeps in most of the nights. I love the giraffes on the wall!
