J and DN

DN and Jovann had a lot of fun lately.

They met after a long long absence the first night DN came back from UK. We went to the Night Safari! I was so excited to see June and DN, and excited coz its our 1st time to the Night Safari, which is coincidentally so near our place! I left Jaz at home with hubby and maid, and drove J there. It was fun, the driving too. :P

FINALLY saw DN, see the cute little one.

NIGHT SAFARI
Right from the beginning, I was getting J all excited by telling him we are going to the night zoo, and he kept asking for elephants from then on. OH dear. Once the tram left the platform and entered the dark dark forest, everything was quite black. But the little one wasn't scared at all, I was even more nervous than him. Once when we were crossing a small stream, and the floor of the tram was only slightly above water, the guide was scaring us about crocodiles and I was actually nervous. Heee! But J was chattering nineteen to the dozen, oblivious...and excited. We saw lions, deers, monkeys, leopards, rhinos, and many other animals with long names I cannot remember! June, can you? it was deer...deer and more deer at one point right? hehehe! Night Safari has a very clever subtle lighting system that cast just enough light onto the area you are supposed to see, but still making it dark enough to retain that mystery of night.

We got on the tram

We stopped halfway and walked for a distance. The 2 little boys posing with the zebras.

Back to the tram, J still kept asking for elephants. I was despairing of seeing any, and tried to distract him. But he won't have any of that. He kept asking, and asking. And I nearly jumped out of my seat in excitement when the guide finally mentioned ".....elephants...." the rest of his words were lost to me as I craned my neck trying to find that eluded animal to quell my son's persistent demands. There they are! 2 of them, 1 on either side. The huge one was the right was supposedly the bigger elephant in the Night Safari. And the funny one was standing right up on an outcrop of rock, doing an elephant dance in the darkness, swaying his trunk slowly...slowly...left...right..left...right....he looked like he was in a trance. J stared long and hard at it....then he suddenly told me he's scared! hehehee....so funny.

BIRD PARK
We met up at a Breakfast with the Birds, which was quite fun though the drinks costs horrendously high at the cafe. The kids got to feed swans and ducks, and we watched a parrot show while enjoying our breakfast. Wonderful. I have been so eager to bring J to the birdpark since the period of time when he was obsessed with birds. Now that his obsession has passed, I still want to bring him as I love the birdshow I watched with hubby long long time ago....heee...

We got to take photos with the parrot! its free for all the breakfast patrons.

Racing to the first show! the photos were blur coz the Daddies were doing a daytona with their strollers.

We caught 2 shows there, the Birds of Prey, and the Birds and Buddies Show. The latter was nice! Really entertaining for the kids...and me.

Birds of Prey - King of the Skies

At one point, the 2 boys exchanged parents. Strangely, DN likes hubby a lot, and J adores Auntie June. Heee!

After a tiring morning.

MUSIC TOGETHER
Both our kids seemed to show an interest in music and instruments, and we sourced out 2 trials we could let them try, to gauge if their interest could bring them further.

Breakfast at Macs@Forum

Little Jaz meeting her godma for the first time!

The one we went to together exposes them to musical rhythm, 3-4beats, pitching and toning, and basically expose them to the fundamentals of a music education in a fun fun way. J had SO MUCH fun, I could hear his screams and laughter from outside the classroom! This lesson was on percussion instruments, so the boys banged on the keys of the piano...

did their tribal dance song on all sorts of drums...big and small....
